An editor and an editorial assistant were talking to each other…
QUESTION: So why are you going home na?
ANSWER: Coz we’re pretending to have a life.
It’s funny how we associate work with not having a life. But we’re working to have a life right? Or maybe not. Our work usually demands so much of us that we forget to live. It’s not really wrong to exert effort on our job but we shouldn’t overdo it. Wag naman masyadong OA na ikakamatay mo na ang trabaho mo. Giving worth to yourself is also giving worth to what you do. So bago ka pa mawalan ng buhay at ma-miss lahat ng mga magagandang bagay sa labas ng opisina, I think you really should get a life outside work.
A graphic artist was whining,
“Anong akala n’ya sa akin, switch ng ilaw?!”
Before I react violently, let me tell you the story behind the line. When he and his girlfriend broke up (that was ages ago kaya naman halatang bitter pa rin ang mokong), he was devastated so nagdrama muna ang lolo n’yo. Nagwallow in self pity. So, nang makita nya ang ex nya na may kasama nang iba after just some weeks, nagwala na sya. Er, he got shocked and was even more shocked when his ex asked him to be friends again. Thus, he uttered the line…
Oo nga naman! Bakit naman kasi akala ng babaeng yun eh ganon kadali. Malay mo naman, minahal sya talaga ng engot na graphic artist. So, he needs time to recuperate. Kung abutin yan ng ilang taon, aba eh problema nya na yun diba? Para sa ex nya, wag mo na lang munang hilingin na maging friends kayo. Tutal, hindi naman na kayo nagkikita. Deadma na lang muna. Just wish for him to be happy. (Kalokohan!)
On “Q & A” — How true! We, humans, do get tired. We should treat ourselves every once in a while (diba, friends?). Whether it’s a vacation, a weekend getaway, or even a mid-week massage (ooh, la-la!), we deserve that break! Life’s too short to waste on just work and serious stuff. Won’t it be sad if we reach old age and yearn for all the good things we let go in the past? (huhuhu) By then, even our beloved careers would be way long past giving us the consolation.
On “Switch ng ilaw” — Sad naman! The girl must be made of wood. I’m sure ramdam naman niya if the guy still carries a torch. Hay, some girls.. Anyway, kailangan talaga sa buhay na ito ang ability to move on. So, hala, iwan na sa nakaraan yan!
